The Irish Food Writing Awards are delighted to announce Odaios Foods as sponsor of the Photography Award for both professional and amateur photographers working in Irish food and drink.
It is a hugely popular category, putting the spotlight on food photography in Ireland while awarding excellence to those photographers at the top of their game. Entries for the 2023 awards have just opened and the photography award is judged by Paris-based food photographer Joann Pai whose work appears in Vogue, Conde Nast Traveller and the Wall Street Journal.
Established in 2004, Odaios Foods created a pioneering and efficient force supplying restaurants, food service and fine food retail in Ireland. Odaois are passionate about raising the standards of food on the Island of Ireland, providing excellent customer service and diverse produce from food producers here and around the world. In 2023 Odaios launched their Co-lab creative space to inspire, imagine new possibilities, and to share knowledge with their customers.
Irish Food Writing Awards founder, journalist Suzanne Campbell, said “It’s fantastic to have Odaios Foods supporting this award, it’s a company we have long admired for sourcing foods based on sustainability and provenance and as a result their products taste outstanding! It’s great to have them backing this award and for food photographers; whether you are starting out or a seasoned professional to be able take part, to feel encouraged valued and a key part of the food eco-system in Ireland.”
Eoin Maher Marketing Lead at Odaios said "We are delighted to support these awards and to reward photographers both professional and amateur who are so important in the communication of food and drink. Great quality images of food have never been so important; they instantly resonate with people and you want to find out more. It is something our co-founder Jason O’Brien is particularly passionate about and we are delighted to support this award.”
The Irish Food Writing Awards were established in 2021 by Suzanne Campbell and Paul O’Connor to award excellence in journalism, photography, podcasts and original online content on Irish food and drink. The twenty two judges who choose the winners in each category include chefs and food writers such as Rene Redzepi, Tom Parker Bowles, Fiona Beckett and Dan Saladino. The awards are non-profit and funded by industry partners in Irish food and drink.
